Unlocking literacy: The power of myON and Accelerated Reader

As the 2023‒2024 school year* comes to a close in many areas of the United States, it’s a great time to share some highlights from our two complementary dynamic reading practice products: myON and Accelerated Reader.

myON, our immersive and engaging digital reading platform with unlimited access to English and Spanish titles, curriculum support, and deep data insights, has thousands of titles linked to Accelerated Reader quizzes. Highlights for this school year include:

• 41,220,090: Total number of title completions on myON this school year
• 372: New books added to the myON Core Collection (221 of those are in Spanish!)
• 304: Total number of titles in our new seven add-on collections (View all our Partner Publisher Collections)
• 164,479: Highest number of completions for any given title on myON: Scooby-Doo! And the Truth Behind Werewolves

• 252: Number of Spanish titles exclusive to myON, including titles in popular series from Jake Maddox, Max Axiom, Library of Doom, and Shakespeare Graphics, such as Un conejo para ti: Cómo cuidar a tu conejo; La ciencia del básquetbol con MaxAxiom, el supercientífico; Dilema del equipo de danza; Romeo y Julieta

• 50: Students who read at least 50 minutes per week on myON experienced more growth in literacy proficiency (View our latest myON impact study)

Accelerated Reader motivates students to take ownership of their reading practice and progress with personalized goal setting, while helping teachers gain insight into student reading practice and comprehension. Highlights for this school year include:

• 418,977,736: Total number of Accelerated Reader quizzes taken
• 1.5 million: Number of Accelerated Reader quizzes taken and passed each day during the school year
• 3,048: Number of quizzed titles added to Accelerated Reader (576 of those are in Spanish!)

Highest number of quizzes taken by Interest Level and English/Spanish:

Middle Grades:

• 244,309 quizzes completed: Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Quiz 113950)
• 4,417 quizzes completed: Esperanza renace (Quiz 44286)

Lower Grades:

• 237,961 quizzes completed: Green Eggs and Ham (Quiz 9021)
• 15,433 quizzes completed: Huevos verdes con jamón (Quiz 9021)

Middle Grades Plus:

• 77,932 quizzes completed: The Hunger Games (Quiz 123740)
• 1,167 quizzes completed: Harry Potter y el misterio del príncipe (Quiz 89154)

Upper Grades:

• 70,769 quizzes completed: The Outsiders (Quiz 381)
• 1,152 quizzes completed: La llamada de lo salvaje (Quiz 107)
